Inspiration is Found Above, Seek It

Sometimes writing is difficult for me, and at other times, it is the most natural thing.

In those difficult times, I try so hard to do it well, and I end up having headaches – the only reward is that I get good results. But at other times, like Friday midnight, it’s almost like the way oxygen moves in the air – unrestricted.

That night, I wrote beautifully on the alluring pages of my lined notebook. It was quiet, and the only sound that cut through the night was the eerie sound of the night Watchman beating his iron gong; he kept on at it as a preacher out to win souls, but he wasn’t.

These are the moments I treasure when the ebb of writing flows smoothly from the core of my soul, and the race is nothing more than a chance to keep running; the soles don’t complain, and the muscles in the hip keep undulating in a forward rolling motion that’d make the best wheels jealous. In moments like this, I’m in synchrony with my Maker, and the words flow graciously from above, like fine wine filling the King’s cup.

Inspiration comes from above, filling you up from the depth of your heart, and resides within you, a silent visitor at first, but the Lord of the house if you allow him.

Bring your cup forward and receive from the King; the greatest inspiration of all is of His Holy Spirit.
