The Lesson — A poem
Life is one great lesson. Of a star who fell from the highest heaven to wandering about the lowest places.
Of a man banished from a blissful garden to toiling the soil in sorrow.
Of a treasurer trusted with a lot but who lost his lot.
Alas!
The lesson is not without correction, that angels should hold on to their light, lest they slip into darkness.
That man should treasure wisdom, lest he should perish in his folly.
That he who is given everything should tight to one thing, lest he loses everything.
And that there’s hope for him who hath an ear, and who makes the choice to listen.
The End.
